OWU Legends Legends Take Championship in the Florida Lacrosse Classic

JANUARY 2005, WESTON, FLORIDA – The OWU Lacrosse Legends competed in the 5th Annual Florida Classic Lacrosse Tournament, in both the Grand Masters and Super Grand Masters Divisions. In the Masters Division, the Legends competed against 16 other teams and finished in 5th place. The key loss was against Mr. Boh, in a tightly contested game, as Mr. Boh won in the sudden death OT game by a final score of 10-9. The loss in the second round put the OWU Legends on a mission in which they won their next two games to secure the 5th place finish.

In the Half Century Tournament portion of the Florida Classic (players must be over 50 years old), the OWU Legends played against 5 other teams in the inaugural event. The Legends notched the Championship with a 4-1 record. Following this victory, the Legends and OWU Alumni gathered for a reunion with players, family and friends of Ohio Wesleyan.

The Legends plan to return to the Florida Lacrosse Classic in January 2006 to defend its Super Grand Masters Division Championship, as well as improving its position in the Grand Masters Division. OWU lacrosse alumni interested in competing on either of the Legends Tournament Teams in Florida 2006 are encouraged to contact:
