Fred Myers Memorial Lacrosse Fund

With the generosity expressed by 92 OWU lacrosse alumni and Ohio Delta SAEs, more than $10,000 was contributed to establish the Fred Myers Memorial Lacrosse Fund. The interest generated from this fund will go to the OWU men’s lacrosse program on an annual basis. The establishment of this Memorial Fund acknowledges the contribution of Fred Myers’ founding of the OWU lacrosse program and ensures a funding stream to support the continuing excellence of OWU lacrosse. We know we can count on you for your continuous support of the OWU men's lacrosse program through additional contributions to this fund.

TEAM OWU » Men’s Lacrosse Program

Another tax-deductible option is to make a contribution to TEAM OWU » Men’s Lacrosse Program. TEAM OWU provides annual supplemental income to the men’s lacrosse budget. We have a total of 480 OWU lacrosse alumni representing the graduating classes of 1956 through 2005. Last year we raised $14,000 through Team OWU. Our goal for this year is $22,000. Just think, if each LAX alumnus contributed $50, we could exceed that goal by $2,000.

Remembering Mr. Rickey Campaign

Mr. Rickey is one of the University’s most legendary alumni. As he changed the way that future generations have experienced professional baseball, Ohio Wesleyan today looks to his memory to help enhance the experiences of future generations of Battling Bishops. Remembering Mr. Rickey is Ohio Wesleyan University’s first-ever comprehensive campaign directed at addressing the needs of the University’s athletic and recreation programs as well as the physical education department. To prepare for this endeavor, the University undertook a two-year assessment of its facilities and stands ready to enhance the experience of all 22 varsity teams. Within this $22 million initiative, Ohio Wesleyan looks to broaden the facilities available to its co-curricular sports and to its physical education program as well.

On October 1, during the Lacrosse Reunion dinner, Dr. Mark Huddleston announced that Morty Bouchard ’80, had made a substantial contribution for the renovation of Selby Field, as part of the Remembering Mr. Rickey campaign. Morty will be leading the fund raising drive and looking to fellow lacrosse alumni for their continued support in raising the balance of funds to reach the $1.5 million dollars needed to complete this portion of the Selby Project.
