Outright Gifts

Cash/Check

The most frequent method used to make a gift to the University is a personal check. Checks should be made payable to Ohio Wesleyan University, and should be mailed or delivered to:

Credit Card

The easiest way to make a contribution is through OWU's secure donation Web site using a credit card. Credit card donations can also be made via telephone by calling Ann Ward, Gifts Coordinator, at 740-368-3317.

Gifts of Securities

Publicly traded securities, shares of stock in closely held companies, bonds, and government issues may be given to the University. For information on the procedures for the transfer of such gifts to Ohio Wesleyan, please contact Brenna Morse, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Business Affairs and Treasurer, at 740-368-3352 or bbmorse@owu.edu.

Gifts of Real Estate

The University may accept gifts of real estate, including homes, condominiums, commercial properties, farmland, rental properties, and undeveloped land after a thorough review of several factors, including an environmental assessment.

Gifts of Tangible Personal Property

The University may accept gifts of tangible personal property, including works of art, jewelry, antiques, coins, stamps and other collections, automobiles, manuscripts, books, etc., which are in line with the University’s objectives. The gift may require funds such as endowment to assure its maintenance and/or display.

Non-Traditional Gifts

The University may accept gifts of non-traditional investments, such as partnership interests, after a thorough review of several factors, including the nature of applicable restrictions.

How You Can Help

Please note that, while many of the above gifts are often made outright to Ohio Wesleyan, such gifts can also be deferred—i.e., you can leave cash, securities, real estate, tangible personal property, etc. to the University through your will or through a trust.
